Integrating an acquisition - metal processingSterling Consulting Group were retained to help a privately owned group of companies in the metal processing sector integrate the acquired division of an international, publicly owned group which more than doubled the size of the business and brought in a totally different culture. Options and a recommendation for the way ahead Were developed following a thorough consultation process. The recommendation met the criteria set out in our brief but required the senior members of the Group to make a radical change of thinking. The evidence was persuasive so they implemented the recommendation. In the first year of operating as an integrated business they far exceeded the combined best years of the separate businesses. In doing so, Were able to honour one of the key wishes of the Chairman and Chief Executive: they made no redundancies. Sterling still work with this group.
