Our many years of experience over a wide range of techniques allows us to listen to your needs then develop client-specific project briefs. We are not constrained by methodologies.

Our approach is participative. We aim to involve client staff in project teams in order to transfer skills and ensure ownership of solutions.

Consultant teams are typically small, not more than five consultants and more likely two or three. This allows links to be close and smoothes the way to identifying opportunities and obstacles in the course of the assignment.

With the client we develop a brief with clear plans, milestones and measures of achievement. We then ensure that progress is monitored through regular reviews. A sample of clients is interviewed by an independent third party after projects have been completed.

Our credentials

Sterling is an approved consultant with GME – Greater Merseyside Enterprise - which offers European Objective One money to Merseyside firms buying consultancy. This initiative offers eligible companies 40% of money spent on consultancy assistance – projects qualifying include general and strategic consultancy, sales and marketing, operations management, supply chain, new product development and more.

Another organisation offering assistance with consultancy costs is the Welsh Development Agency. Sterling is on the WDA’s Strategic Direction Call-Down list which makes us one of the companies qualified to help stand-alone companies and some subsidiary operations in Wales develop and manage sustainable business strategies. Up to 50% of the cost of consultancy may be recovered.

Sterling is a member of the British Quality Foundation (BQF) and of its Register of Quality Consultancy and Training Organisations. We are also licensed by the BQF to deliver Assessor Training using BQF materials and are BQF Endorsed Advisers.

We are registered with the DTI Manufacturing Advisory Service as a Centre of Enterprise in Manufacturing. Our details are posted on the MAS website (http://www.dti.gov.uk/manufacturing/mas/) which is designed to provide manufacturing company users with details of services and expertise relevant to them.
