Andrew Newman
Andrew Newman started his career with the GKN Group where he gained experience
in marketing, public relations, and sales. He progressed into international
marketing and sales with Wilmot Breeden, concentrating on components for
the automotive industry. Moving to Staveley Industries’ subsidiary,
Salter, Andrew had executive appointments in sales, marketing, product
development, business strategy, and new venture management.
He became a business consultant with PA in Birmingham and was one of
the founders of Sterling in 1987. His assignments include business strategy
development, organisation planning, marketing, sales, business performance
improvement, and purchasing. Andrew is a director of Sterling and a non-executive
director of B E Wedge Holdings Limited.
Graham
Sargent
Graham Sargent is a chartered accountant. He joined Jaguar plc in 1984
as part of the government privatisation initiative and, in 1991, was headhunted
for rail industry privatisation. He became Finance Director of Amey Railways
Limited in, leaving to become an interim manager in 1996. He had a number
of senior assignments with “blue chip” groups including Siemens,
Alstom, Marconi and Milk Marque.
Graham is an accomplished project manager and trouble-shooter specialising
in process re-engineering and change management. He is an EFQM assessor
for the Midlands Excellence Awards and a non executive director of Mercian Housing Association Limited
where he is Vice Chairman
.
Andrea
Feenan
Andrea Feenan is a qualified buyer and has been working with Sterling
since February 2000, both as an employed consultant and more recently
as an associate. She is a specialist purchasing consultant in Sterling's
supply chain management practice. Her work has included a two year period
as a contract buyer with an NHS Trust, and an interim procurement role
with a housing association. She has also worked on Best Value assignments.
David
Hawkins
David Hawkins began his career began in the construction industry designing
and installing industrial and process projects worldwide. In subsequent
years he handled the engineering, procurement, and installation of major
facilities in the metalworking and automotive component sectors, in Poland
and the USA, in due course becoming projects director for GKN Projects.
Since 1987 he has been director and principal consultant of Redmayne Projects
Limited, an engineering and management services company.
Ian
Clarke
Ian Clarke was Spirent plc's Group Purchasing Manager, responsible for
the development of procurement strategy, introducing global sourcing initiatives,
and developing best practice purchasing techniques within the Group. He
became a consultant on leaving Spirent. He has worked with a range of
NHS Trusts and local authorities both as a consultant and mentor, and
as an interim purchasing manager handling contracts valued at up to £20
million.
Ian
Redington
Ian Redington spent some 30 years in the food industry with responsibilities
in commodity trading, marketing, operations, and human resources. His
last appointment in the industry was as Commercial and Human Resources
Director in Milk Marque. In 2001 he became a consultant specialising in
strategy and human resources. His clients encompass a range of industries.
John
Evans
John Evans began his career in the pharmaceutical industry in 1970. He
became Director of Pharmaceutical Marketing, Europe, with the Warner Lambert
Corporation at their corporate headquarters in New Jersey before taking
on lead responsibilities in Europe. Parke-Davis then recruited John on
as Marketing and Sales Director, UK/Ireland/Scandinavia, which in turn
led to his becoming Director of Strategic Planning, UK/Ireland/Scandinavia.
Since 1999 he has been an independent pharmaceutical management consultant,
carrying out strategy assignments, promotions and communications projects,
market research, and new venture development.
Pamela
Powell
Pamela Powell qualified as a chartered accountant in 1986. Her principal
areas of expertise include analysis of financial statements, finance for
non-financial managers, international comparisons in financial reporting,
and technical updates in financial reporting and auditing for qualified
accountants. She has increasingly focussed on post qualification training
and training for non-accountants.
Peter
Parry
Peter Parry started his career in the textile industry. He joined PA
Management Consultants to specialise in marketing and business planning.
He moved to NFC (now Exel Logistics) where he was responsible for marketing.
This included the procurement of vehicles for the truck rental and contract
hire fleets. Moving to Sterling Consulting Group he specialised in purchasing
and supply chain management. Now an associate of Sterling he works for
a wide range of clients in the public, private, and charity sectors.
Philip
Sweeney
Philip Sweeney began his working life in the building materials industry,
where he progressed rapidly into purchasing and materials management.
He became a management consultant concerned with both sides of supply
relationships, materials management, and management information systems,
and undertaking interim management roles with supply chain and operational
responsibilities at board level. He now specialises in sourcing and supplier
management strategy development
Roger
Bonfield
is a Human Resource professional primarily concerned with the development
of individuals and teams. Following personnel roles with Legal & General
Assurance Society and British Ship Research Association (latterly BMT),
Roger joined Bradford & Bingley PLC where be became Head of HR Development.
He set up his own consultancy working as an HR Consultant and MBTI and
the Hogan Personality Suite practitioner.
Tony
Smith
Tony Smith is a seasoned marketing consultant with sixteen years’
line management experience. He has prepared and implemented a number of
sales and marketing strategies in both the public and private sectors.
He has carried out a range of assignments for various NHS Trusts in Wales
and has developed and implemented customer satisfaction measurement programmes
in a ranger of industries. Tony is a marketing trainer and has lectured
for the University of Wales on the MBA course.
Richard
Dobson
Richard Dobson has a wealth of experience in industry. Before becoming
a consultant he was Logistics Director with Golden Wonder, a major supplier
of snack foods to the UK food retail industry. His key disciplines are
production engineering, materials control, and logistics. He has a comprehensive
knowledge of information systems applications within the supply chain.
He is also an expert on business process analysis and distribution design.
Les
Mosco
Les Mosco is a high level procurement strategy specialist who has held
senior positions at British Coal, The Scottish Office, NatWest Group,
Railtrack and Network Rail before becoming a consultant. He has had 25
years experience of outsourcing, purchasing, procurement, commercial supply
chain, materials and inventory. He is a past National President of the
Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply.
Richard
Hannah
Richard Hannah spent much of his career with Metal Box where he progressed
through roles in O & M, work study, simulation, PC implementation,
and SCADA to become Special Projects Manager with Carnaud Metal Box. He
then moved into consultancy with Business Solutions (formerly SWAN software).
He is now an independent IT consultant. His work includes training, managing
data transfer into and from systems, and helping clients implement manufacturing
software.
